You very welcome my Friend ,get some sleep man Linux can wait. ;)

Oh, will updating the Ultimate Edition 3.0 distro to Mint 12 break a lot of things??

DO NOT GO THAT WAY PLEASE.

The U.E is not yet sync with the MINT 12 system,so yes that will mess your system for sure.

If you like to try the MINT 12 you can download it from our " Remix".
Hope you know how to find us. :D

Ultimate Edition 3.2, which will be releases soon (if all the stars align) is based upon 11.10, and if you need the best and newest, will be what you need. My home machine, which is 4 years old loves Ultimate Edition 2.6.3 best

Ok, so I tried to remove Synaptic to reinstall it, but nothing I tried would let me uninstall it. I am going to redo the system one more time and see if I can't make any progress on it. Thanks

Well, I have now got a fresh install of Ultimate Edition 3.0. I went to add my new ppa and got the same error

Screenshot.png

Then I go into synaptic and I try to pull up the repositories and it tells me that the information is old. So I proceed to reload all of the repositories ( which should sync synaptic up like it should be). When I start reloading the repositories, a good 85% of them fail. After it is done, then I go to pull up the repositories list once more only to find this popping up again:

Screenshot-1.png

I have gone into terminal and did the following commands as per your request

Code: Select all
sudo apt-get --configure -a

Code: Select all
sudo apt-get install -f

Go back into synaptic to check repositories list and get the same thing as in the image.

Hello lunerceli.

let's slow down here please.

1 -First check the box and Apply the pop up - then reload+mark all upgrades.
and click on the Apply for the update/upgrade of the system.

2 - you need to update the system from the terminal with:

Code: Select all
  sudo apt-get update

Code: Select all
 sudo apt-get upgrade

3 - you need to Update/Upgrade the Mint system with mint Update Manager.

4 -you need to load the Ubuntu Tweak + Update the Software.
Look After the First reload in the Ubuntu Tweak on the 3 Party,
mark there the Ubuntu X (has to be down in the list).

Now this is the way to the First step of the Updates that the system need After the installation process done. ;)
Go for it and please post back.

Thank you.

Thank you for all of your help Amir. I will have to do all of that when I get home from here in a couple of months. I went to do it and it showed over 200 MB, and that would take days on my internet. LOL. I did however find a work around though. I finally got the sources.list to save my repositories that I put in manually. I had to not only save them in there but also I have to edit the sources.list.save file as well with the same info. Once I did that it saved the repos and I updated the repo list and now everything is all good. Just a little bit of a hassle to have to search down the actual name of the repo through launchpad.net. But at least things work now. You are indeed a great man as I expressed earlier. Take care.
