Installing deb files

Help & support for Ultimate Edtion 3.0

Installing deb files

Postby HDWildbill » Thu Dec 22, 2011 4:29 pm

I decided to switch over to the main 3.0 edition. I downloaded some of the themes from the Ultimate Edition theme page and usually I just go into file manager and right click and tell it to install. All I get is the archive manager. So I figured I would use synaptic but when I navigate to the download folder it shows the downloads grayed out.

I also have the issue with the repositories window not opening but when I searched on it I found mention of the problem but no clear defined fix for the problem.

Thanks
Bill

Thanks, gdebi did the trick. One question though shouldn't gdebi be on the admin menu? I didn't see it so I forgot about using it but it launched just fine from the terminal.

Thanks
