sound amplification

Postby witblits1970 » Thu Dec 01, 2011 8:05 am

i have some mp3's that plays very softly on my mp3/4 player. is there a way to amplify the sound so i can actually hear what is being said? this is part of my studies and im finding it frustrating to listen to as the sound is sooooo low. i ahve tried audacity but it failed, think its because there are 221 lectures to convert. all are 1 dvd however.
many thanks

Check you sound settings and see if you can boost either the input or output.

i play the player as loud as it can go but it's still very soft. i wqs hoping to amplify the sound via an 3rd party app. maybe MS has an app that will do it, i prefer ubuntu tho but so far it has not worked yet

Sound is a bit tricky. you not only need to get the level correct in the application you need to make sure the general sound settings are right. In Ultimate Edition 2.9 I go to my sound icon in the title bar, left click on it and adjust the settings. The placement may not be the same, but the procedure is in Linux, Windows and Mac

I use audacity to boost audio. I had quite a few you tube videos that were of different volumes and I used that to balance them out. There are lots of DJ apps out there that are free that should do the trick..

@ billhendrick,,,the issue is not on my box but on my mp4 player, sound is poor to sau the least.

@ pch.shot i thought audacity would be ok however im finding the amplify is ok but when i export it as mp3 i only get 30 Megs of audio instead of 1.5 gig of audio?? :? also when i play it back all i get is a garbled noise that no one can hear never mind study from.
what dj apps wee u thinking about as i have just installed djplay, not used it yet but will report back as i go along.

thanks
