Hello, I tried installing this software in both 32bit and 64bit flavors respectively. I had a weird problem with both, though the problems are not the same/
On the 64bit version, The internet works (both wired and wireless.) However, the sound did not work at all. I noticed it wben i went on the internet and watched a video or two to test. Nothing came out of the speakers or headphones no matter what the volume displayed. After fiddling around with it for a bit in the sound config, it seemed that it may have just been a faulty install. I have yet to retry the 64bit version after removing it.
I decided to give the 32bit version a try since i ran Ultimate Edition 2.8 back when that was new and worked. I installed it and noticed i had absolutely no problems with sound what so ever. I was pretty happy seeing that all seemed to work well. Until i went to use the internet. I went on and instantly noticed that the internet was not working. I checked the internet tab on the Gnome bar and noticed something unusual, The wired internet showed as disconnected and was grayed out. Astounded by this and dumbfounded. I went searching online using the windows installation on the same computer as to hopefully find an answer. I have tried it all from entering in the info manually to other steps. even using the synaptic package manager to download other files using a wireless connection that was semi functioning. (took forever as one may think)
I have erased this installation too but i would like to know if you have an idea what may be going on?
My computer is an HP TouchSmart all in one desktop pc
My internet is DSL and does run through a rounter.
64 bit picks up internet without a hitch for both wired and wireless. but the sound won't work at all.
32 bit acts as if the wire was never there, but the sound works
I thank you in advance for the time and patience of reading and dealing with my problems
