Ultimate Edition 2.9/ GUI login issue/NOOK

Help and support for Ultimate Edition 2.9

Ultimate Edition 2.9/ GUI login issue/NOOK

Postby prodigal1 » Sat Apr 09, 2011 3:37 pm

I just installed Ultimate Edition on my friends laptop. Having a problem getting the Update manager to update completely. I get a leave behind in my Recommended updates.

“GUI login manager for LXDE.”

This is a fresh install of Ultimate Edition 2.9 on an Acer Aspire 5736Z-4016. This does not hinder the functionality of the computer or the software in any way that I've observed (I finished installing about 1 hour ago), but being the obsessive-compulsive individual that I am it does hinder my functionality. That being said , you may log this under “Defect of User” . I know there is a simple solution to this, it's just not simple until found.

On my own laptop, (Acer Aspire 5335-2238 with Ultimate Edition 2.9) I am having trouble installing Barnes and Noble Nook software for PC in Wine. I know this is primarily a “Wine” issue, but I had NOOK installed in regular Ubuntu 10.10 so I am thinking it might be a compatibility issue with a Ultimate Edition 2.9 component, so I am throwing it out there for any suggestions.

Any and all suggestions with either of these little hurdles is much appreciated. Thank you.

open syntactic package manager.

type that in search and install the update, that simple.

Reason ? It is a none verified update, Thus has to be forced.

As for the wine issue. Not something i would use. Nor has any client, So sorry no idea there.
