Installation stalls on "Who are you?" screen

Postby sheni7 » Thu Jan 13, 2011 1:59 pm

Hi I have tried repeatedly to install this OS to my hard drive using the live cd and also the USB installer and each time it stalls on the "Who are you?" screen. I fill out my name, username and password and yet the "forward button" that should take me onto the next installation phase is greyed out. Just above the progress bar on the bottom it says "Ready when you are" and yet it doesn't allow me to continue with the installation. I am able to click the back button so I know that the installation hasn't frozen. Also when I click on the progress bar it reveals a dos screen the keeps load and reloading the same things. What is going on?

Remember that name and password MUST be entered.

Due to Linux security being worlds better then Windows. No password is not acceptable.

Be sure that all areas are filled out correctly. If it will not allow you to continue , then one or more areas is not filled out correctly.

Usually this is caused by using a capital letter in the username field. No capitals allowed ! :ugeek:
