Help, messed up my theme or something

Postby boarder428 » Sat Jan 08, 2011 9:35 pm

Need help, was messing around witrh themes and log on screens and compiz and somehow enabled an effect I don't like. I belive it happened after adding compiz plugins but not sure. I have this awful blue illumination I wish to get rid of and can't figure out how. It does'nt matter what theme is chosen the blue glow is always there. Also the settings for my terminal have changed, it originally showed my background as the background in the terminal and now it does'nt. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The blue illumination is part of the window frame theme from Ultimate Edition default theme.

Just add the Compiz settings icon to your panel for quick access and then right-click the icon and set as I have here;

Select Window Manager = Compiz
Compiz Options = leave blank
Select Window decorator = Emerald

Provided you have the apps, etc loaded I think this will now allow you to go into the Emerald Theme manager and alter the look of your Desktop to suit.

Although, a lot of people really like the default them, I personally find it too distracting. Well done but, not for me. I prefer a more minimalistic look and use one of the Mac look alike themes having the Cairo-dock and a brushed chrome effect on windows, etc.
