2.7 wiggle splash - [SOLVED]

Postby ninhalo5 » Fri Sep 03, 2010 9:46 pm

Just a quick question, How can I remove that wiggle splash thing that shows up once the desktop starts? I found the manager the other day but I can't for the life of me remember where it is now or what is was called.

Thanks

yeah the wiggle splash thing, you know... :D
I'm running 2.7, when the desktop loads up after turning the system on a huge 2.7 red logo appears. It's in 2 parts 1 has a solid image of the 2.7 logo on one layer and on the layer above it has the same image but it wiggles/waves above the still image. it only lasts for 1-2 seconds then disappears. There's a manager for this thing somewhere where you can adjust how long it stays on the screen, whether you want it to wiggle or not, I think you can change the image as well or just shut it off altogether.
I'm not sure how else to explain it, being I'm really not sure what it's called. It is part of the normal install not an extra installed program, I just reinstalled 2.7 due to a theme crashing my entire o/s and there it is. I removed the splash from my last setup a few weeks ago when I stumbled upon the manager for it.

I got rid of mine by using System/Administration/Start Up Manager. The first window has a box you can uncheck "Show splash screen". Bugged me too. Cut a couple seconds off boot.

Thanks, I already had that shut off, but it's still coming up. I know somewhere on here there is a controller built just for making adjustments to that splash. 2 weeks ago I was playing with it and set the time to something like 30 seconds and it did it's thing for that long. I know I'll prob find it eventually. :)
