Cannot change Boot Text into Splash Screen

Postby Thorzton » Sun Jun 27, 2010 7:02 am

And when I Shutdown the Computer there is a pixelized nonsense.
Where should I begin to solve it? There is no reaction, when I change it in Splash Screen.
Must i install something more? By the way splashy in the Synaptic has a bug.-->

If I may, WHAT exactly are we talking about !? you cover 4 different issues ! yes i realize you have pixelized hodge podge at log off ! you cant change what !? have you installed splashy ? (which will cause pain, hart ache and sorrow!) Or are you running "plymouth" is this a fresh install ? Then you say no change in splash screen ? :? If you could be so kind as to elaborate ! ;) and we will try and see what we can do ! ;)

O.K. I want tho see the superb boot splash from Ultimate Edition, which seems to be plymouth.
Can I install it over System/Einstellungen/Splash Screen? Or must I do something else. Its a new installation.
Oha. grub.conf is empty.
Now I turned it completely off, the Splash Screen and it shows me, first Text, then Nvidia, then the Desktop with the "blobbing" 2.7. Logo.
--After I updated grub in the last installed version i got the violet 10.4 Splash-screen.

Solved with this: http://wiki.ubuntuusers.de/Baustelle/Plymouth
