Is there a guide for gutting UA 2.7.64? I'm a minimalist and only want openbor {hopefully with crunchbang config. files and added packages as needed}. what would happen if I just " sudo apt-get remove gnome-desktop , sudo apt-get remove kde-desktop, sudo apt-get remove xfce-desktop, sudo apt-get remove lxde-desktop"?
I've spent hours in past gutting UA from package manager. A modifiable list of command line commands to gut {guide} would be great because of how loaded down UA is, but some apt's are great and you did get them to play nice with each other.
any help would be great-thanx

Hello dove.

Today I have start the Installation Guide for Ultimate Edition
I have post the parts that ready for the user on the site, and will be more parts for you all.
You can Find the Guide under Ultimate Edition Guides here in the Forum.

Now for your Question well this issue never come up here on the U.E Forum,PPL want to have all,
And you want to have less (what A world HA ).
but if you want to have just the open box,First install it on your machine.
Then you can try to Delete all the other options that you want.
This can crash your machine, but from the other hand it can work for you with the right process.
The best way is to try.
please post back if it want OK for you OR not.

Thank you.

I get confused on these versions. Are the even numbered versions Gnome and the odd versions KDE like someone here once said? Thanks

Hi comsparks

That is correct. Even = Gnome only. Odd = different environments.

Cheers
