own_window_type override

with
Code: Select all
own_window_type desktop

Yes,now conky interacts with compiz to the boot time,if you set conky to start at boot. The solution is to start conky after compiz starts with at least 20 seconds delay. For that you need a conky.sh added in startup applications>conky>command.

Hi all!
Thanks for all the people working here for this wonderful masterpiece. I've been using different versions of Linux for almost 6 years or so and this seems to be the best version I've laid my hands on. It has been a beautiful experience with linux.

I've had 3 issues with this till now. First, the cursor settings issue. Thankfully that was solved with a simple search here.
The second one hasn't been so lucky for me. I'm unable to get the booting animation to work like it has been shown here in the videos. All I get is a purple screen with 4-5 white dots which act like a progressive bar. And the last one is that I'm unable to change the login screen image. Tried changing through System>Admin>Login Screen as well as through Ubuntu Tweak. Dint work. Please help.

When I first loaded Ultimate Edition, Icons appeared on the desktop when I used Places, Connect to Server, and then supplied the IP address of one of my other computers on my lan. Then anytime during the session (before I shut Ultimate Edition down), the icons were available rather than having to go through the process of connecting again. For some reason, they no longer appear, and the only way to keep them available, is to open them, then minimize to the task bar to keep them available.
Did I do something to cause this? Can it be corrected?

Thanks,
Errol

Hello Errol .

To add the icon for the Network to your Desktop use Ubuntu tweak mark the option in the Desktop options.
you can add to your up bar by right click add to the bar the icon back.
Now you need to mark bout box in the Edit connections for your Lan/WAN options,
so the connection will work for you Auto.
