kernel ?[SOLVED]

Help & support for Ultimate Edition 2.7

kernel ?[SOLVED]

Postby JaSoN369 » Sun Aug 01, 2010 10:35 am

I upgraded my kernel to 2.6.34 following this guide here. viewtopic.php?f=69&t=4763 Every thing was fine on 2.6.32 but I wanted to utilize the trim support on the newer kernel. My problem is when I reboot I get this error.
4.899860] corrupted low memory at ffff880000006118 (6118 phys) = 040000
4.899906] corrupted low memory at ffff880000006198 (6198 phys) = 040000
4.899979] memory corruption detected in low memory

there is also another message that pops up but its go's away to fast for me to read.

Should i be concerned or is there a fix for this?

i also did a memory test from the live cd it went 2 passes with 0 errors.

everything seems to work fine but that message concern me ( i did not get this message on 2.6.32)

Hello JaSoN369.

can you please tell me how many systems you have on your HDD?
this was not spouse to happens on the upgrade process on any machine,
Because it is Kernel Released.
If you have follow the process as it is there this issue is the first one that I see here on the site.

1 you can remove the kernel from synaptic.
2 you can Reinstall the 2.6.34 kernel After you will Restart your machine - and see what will happens.
Just please copy the errors that we can have all the info on the issue.

JaSoN369.

you can use the print screen button to get the error=>PrtSc.
If you have Removed the 2.6.34 kernel 3 times and it is no go ,
then Remove the 2.6.34 Kernel from synaptic.
and live the 2.6.32 there.

the prtsc button doesn't seem to capture the image on the boot screen. i guess ill have to live with 2.6.32 and no trim thats unless you know any way around that.
Thanks for all your help. I am really enjoying this OS its a welcomed change of pace. ;)

i resolved my issue with a bios update . Afterwards i received another error stating "pci 0000:04:00.0: no compatible bridge window for [mem 0xfffe0000-0xffffffff pref] " this error can be fixed if lan during is connected during bootup or disable lan in bios.
