help pls...

The brightness applet considers the current brightness (which is quite bright)
as the minimum value...so i'm not able to decrease the brightness level....

And the other one (gddccontrol) just doesn't detect the hardware at all...

What's the best way out to adjust monitor properties...

.

Your Chromium updates ruined my Chromium.

Postby Lynwood » Fri May 20, 2011 4:28 pm

Hello,

I have been using Chromium regularly recently. This morning I found updates all four/five of which turned out to be updates to Chromium. After installing them, my Chromium now doesn't work. Many pages display only partially, and the icons don't display. I'm running 2.6, not 2.6.1.

I presume you're already aware of this and are working on it; I'd like to know what to expect.

Rather simple fix

http://www.google.com/chrome/

This has nothing to do with ultimate edition . Just a update gone wrong, you can remove chromium and delete your config file from home folder. Fresh install or you can just install google chrome for Linux.

Dealt with this and flash issue via trouble calls yesterday via my business.

So I have already done the work knowing how to fix it.

P.S. I suspect that my 2.6 is 32 bit, but I'm not sure. The processor is an Athlon 64 3200.

I also ran the same updates on my mother's Mint 9 (Isadora), and her Chromium works fine. That's why I worded my Subject the way I did.

Why would I go to Google? Doesn't the OS maintainer integrate software, including updates, and check their functionality before putting it in the repository?
I certainly don't want to remove Chromium. I don't know how to save all my settings and bookmarks.

Your assuming it is the update, IT IS NOT. I have installed this same update on dozens of other systems using Ubuntu based distro's with out problem.

It is the fact your PC updated it incorrectly or a add on interfered with the update.

remove the package completely and reinstall. It Isn't that hard, do it via synaptic.

To back up your favorites is quite simple.

Click on the wrench and select book mark manager.

organize and export.
