I restarted in Live Disk
right clicked on the Network Icon
clicked on Edit connection
went to the wireless tab
clicked on Add network
added a dummy name and saved it
and I have no way to connect to Hidden Wireless Network under this icon.

What I did try, for my 4th re-install, is to change the name of the networ connection from Auto Eth0 to Auto eth1.
But I am going to wait for some more input before I try this.

Frankly I am somewhat frustrated that this is so hard

Hello billhedrick.

Let me try once again to make things more clear for you please.
1- you need to log in to your modem/router and to start the wireless network - wireless name+ pass.
2- After you have save the wireless NEW network,then the name + pass will serve you with your configuration
on the Hidden Network log in.

So if you do not have modem/router , Then you will need to configure the eth0 with the Address of:
IP
net mask
get way

on the Hidden Network log in.

OK since I do not have access to my modem/router, I will skip this step I think I know what you mean by the phrase "name+pass" you are saying to enter my name and my password

So if you do not have modem/router , Then you will need to configure the eth0 with the Address of:
IP
net musk
get way

those last 3 lines are not so intelligible. I think you mean "net mask" but I am not sure.
I set the name of my wired network to eth1 on the install, we'll see if it works this time.

billhedrick.

the second part try to say like:
127.0.0.1=IP
255.255.255.0=NetMask
127.0.0.10 = gateway

hope this will clear the issue for you.
Remember this issue is Ubuntu Responsibility to fix it - like some more bugs that they add to the Release.

Yes, thanks. Sorry to be such a pain on this, but I really want to use 2.6! I know this is Ubuntu's error not ours, but it's so frustrating.

BTW, my last attempt, simply changing the name to eth1 didn't work, so I will have to try again. This is probably the last try I am making until gamer's addition. I will go back to 2.5 until then.
