Odd desktop bar.

Help and support for Ultimate Edition 2.4

Odd desktop bar.

Postby M4ksiu » Fri Dec 04, 2009 2:10 pm

Yesterday ( dunno if it had been there before ) I saw odd bar at the bottom of my screen I cannot touch. It changes to whatever slides through its space.

One more question - to not spam this section with new topics - how to update 2.4 to 2.5 when it's out ? I hope it's not about reinstalling everything. =<

Best regards, M4ksiu.

Meh, sorry, that was a long day. The first question would be 'how to remove that odd bar', but screenshot does not even present it. Yesterday, I updated my graphic drivers and that problem seems to be solved. Thanks for your effort anyway.

But the second question is still open and I'd love to see an answer for it. Is there any way to update Ultimate Edition ( not Ubuntu itself only ) without reinstalling the whole package ?

The third question that comes to my mind is about my TV card and step-by-step guide for newbie about installation, but I'd rather put it in separated topics.

Thanks for the answers and advices, and sorry again for the odd-looking post.

Best regards, M4ksiu.

Hello M4ksiu. Please use the "search" function next time before making a post. There is tone loads of answers to both your questions!!

Re your upgrade question: At this point in time it is not possible to do a system upgrade. The only thing we always suggest is to do a clean installation to be on the safe side in terms of compatibility/preventing packages from becoming broken etc!!

As for your TV card, make a new topic for that "if" after you've searched and don't find anything that help remedy your problem.

An a recommendation is to populate your signature with your system specification so that we can have an idea of the type of hardware your running so that we can better help!!

My apology. Search button is my friend, but I was in hurry while looking for answers for these questions, so I thought I could just found a new topic. Sorry for that.

About the third issue: Yes, I'll look for a solution first before writing another topic.

Best regards, M4ksiu.
