You have to tell xrandr to see the vga port first, before you can display out through it.
start with..
- Code: Select all
xrandr -q
to make a list. And post the results.
Is it just not 16:1 ratio? You can still get 1080 with an 4:1 ratio....it just looks boxy.
Or it could be the driver doesn't support 1080.In windows I get 1080 also, but not in linux.(with the gpu in my sig)
I got the given result
ajit@ajit-desktop:~$ xrandr -q
Screen 0: minimum 640 x 480, current 1280 x 1024, maximum 1280 x 1024
default connected 1280x1024+0+0 0mm x 0mm
1280x1024 0.0*
1024x768 0.0
800x600 0.0
640x480 0.0
1920x1080 (0x11a) 148.5MHz
h: width 1920 start 2008 end 2052 total 2200 skew 0 clock 67.5KHz
v: height 1080 start 1089 end 1095 total 1125 clock 60.0Hz
ajit@ajit-desktop:~$
I get {1280 x 1024 (5:4), 1024 x 768 (4:3), 800 x 600 (4:3), 640 x 480 (4:3)} these resolutions in my Display Preferences.
I don't have any option with 1920 x 1080.
