Dell 22" LCD monitor not getting optimum resolution

Then again it might just be the monitor not sending the right info to x server/xrandr.

Just for trouble shooting this can be easily checked off the list.

xrandr --prop

will show what the monitor is sending.

This is the result, and it is also same.

Well there you go....it looks like its not getting the EDID data from the monitor.
