As you have read there is not real support on the yahoo option fully.
so the best option that I have post for you are from there site on the net.
I will see what more can be done on this issue with some work around.

BTW- it looks like that Yahoo changing the protocols for the new Release!!

cn.scs.msg.yahoo

Thanks for all the help so far. I've tried cn.scs.msg.yahoo.com or whatever it is, that one didn't work for me.

If there's anyone out there who has yahoo working on pidgin could they post a screen shot of what they've got for the pager server?

Here is suggestion for you to try - to get from this mess with pidgin.
you can try to connect to Yahoo from Empathy IM.
This should work for you.

The last time I tried Empathy it didn't work for me either, but it's always worth a try again. I'll let you know how it goes the next time I'm on my laptop.

Sorry, that didn't work either.

I just tried to install empathy and in the process it informs me that there was an error that occured. I run the package manager and look for the broken package and after trying to mark it for reinstallation I get this

Are you using the Pidgen that comes pre loaded? (2.62) There is a newer version out 2.6.6. I don't know if this would help or not. I tried my yahoo on pidgen and there was no problem with it. I did find this http://news.softpedia.com/news/How-to-F ... 4754.shtml I hope this one helps
