KDE Tweaking

Postby Jeahavee » Wed Nov 11, 2009 11:47 pm

KDE fun

KDE: How do I use compiz? or is there another program for customizing it? I got the multidesktops working but i like to have the commands I use in Gnome used in KDE or something similar.
Mozilla isn't the default browser. How do I disable Konqueror and enable Mozilla to be default. I guess same with Thunderbird too.

The ctrl + scroll cause the desktop to zoom. I'd like to disable that. I don't believe I'll need the zoom feature rather change desktops.

I'd like to use widgets, how could I fade them in and out with one button so I don't see them all the time. Also would like them on each desktop.

I got sound, but it claim the intel sound card isn't working.

HDMI Display isn't working properly (just like in Xfce) I gotta go to display every time.

It won't wirelessly connect to the internet on start up

Wow so I finally look at it, course none of that answered any of my questions. BUT I saw all his desktop and thought. If he could show me how he did all that then I could do tha and probably fix it up real nice. The "box" effect I had went away but then it came back and again went away :( . Also can't get sound to work right threw the laptop speakers :o been there before.

I manager to get some desktop things going, but I'd really like a dock that I can install and use. Anyone know one that I can download and install I've tried anything plasmoid, but I can't seem to get it to install, or find a way to install it. :geek:

This is a serious problem here. How do I get KDE to wirelessly connect to the internet on start up it won't do it for some reason. Installed another program to manage wireless on Gnome and it work on KDE too.

AND
I installed Ultimate Edition on my mothers computer and for some reason 2.5 32 bit's KDE has no boarders. where are they?

Re: KDE Tweaking (A few more to go!!)

I got the multidesktops working but i like to have the commands (like I use in Gnome) used in KDE. OR if there are commands what are they.

Mozilla isn't the default browser. How do I disable Konqueror and enable Mozilla to be default. I guess same with Thunderbird too.

The ctrl + scroll cause the desktop to zoom, and not the kind of zoom I get with Gnome. I'd like to disable that. I don't believe I'll need the zoom like that.

I got sound, but it claim the intel sound card isn't working. :?: :?

HDMI Display isn't working properly (just like in Xfce) I gotta go to display every time. Wen I do that it cause everything (Gnome Do and the 3D desktop effects) to not work. Not a problem when it's just the laptop display.
