Games Full Screen Problem

Help & support for Ultimate Edition 2.3

Games Full Screen Problem

Postby PalqkA » Tue Oct 06, 2009 7:30 am

Hello there everyone.

I have a confusing problem.

I`m using Ultimate Edition 2.3 (Ubuntu based linux), nvidia GeForce Go 7400 (default)(strange - in specifications i saw quadro nvs 110m/120m).
When I start a full screen application like game, it fits to vertical and i can`t see the bottom side => I`m widescreen 1280x800 so if application is 800x600 for example I won`t be able to see the bottom.

So,
my question is if there is anyone to give me a solution how to fit the full screen on horizontal instead of vertical, so I will be able to see the whole content of the application.

P.S. on movies full screen have no problem.

If you need more information just ask (I`m kinda new linux user)

Thanks in advice.

I`ll try.
Last night i just installed 2.4 Ultimate Edition Gaming.
I had no time to try if there are any resolution fixes.

I wanna just ask : if I`m not wrong when i touch the grafic settings i saw that this compiz is now with other name and it become a seperate project. (I don`t remember now the new name exacly but it was skitter or something like that)
Am I wrong?

Oh my bad sorry :S
I removed Compiz Fusion but the problem still exist...

I had noticed that this happens when i install the video drivers... when i don`t have them it fits the screen as it should.
But without the drivers I have low fps...
I tried maybe all kind of options in the nvidia settings but nothing works...

Just to be clear here:
In your menus, System->Administration->NVIDIA X Server Settings?

Under X Server Display Configuration, do you have the Resolution set to Auto? Set it manually to your native wide screen resolution instead, click 'Save to X Configuration File' and then 'Quit'. Log out of U.E and then back in.
Any difference?
