Help & support for Ultimate Edition 2.3

Evolution Mail

Postby The Doctor » Fri Sep 25, 2009 1:24 pm

I am using Evolution mail. When I set it up, it asked for my password and I put it in and made the selection to save the password.

Two things. First, after I open Evolution, I then have to click the send/receive icon to get the mail downloaded. Can this be automated? Second, each time it wants me to put in a password to release the password. Can this also be automated. I would just like to open Evolution and then have my mail downloaded without the extra clicks.

Thanks for the non-flaming answers I have been getting.

Thanks, I looked there and then did Google searches and looked at many pages. None of them addressed the issues. Maybe I will just have to go back to Thunderbird.

Through Evolution menus, Edit - Preferences - Mail Accounts. Highlight your ISP and click edit. Click on Recieving Options Tab. This is where you can set it to automate your mail download. In this same area, click on Receiving Email Tab and make sure the remember password box is checked.

Evolution is broken in jaunty. It will only notify you of mail if the window is open(has to do with the gnome more than evolution). Also the auto download broken too I think...least I gave up trying to make it work without putting an pass in.Beside those two things it works great for me.No problem for me to type my pass in.

Thunderbird 3 beta 3. It got some neat features and easier than 2. Try it.But be warned that it is beta software.
