ATI Radeon 7000 drivers

i've look for ati radeon drivers, but didn't find any!so i cannot have the desktop effects? however, with ubuntu 9.04 i used to have those effects...
how is that possible...is the problem something else?




I've got a; ATI radeon 7000(RV100), 40 gb hard disk, 1 gb ram(ddr1), pentium 4, intel, 2.8 Ghz, samsung dvd writer, azus dvd ram, viewsonic monitor, mercury 5.1 home theater surround(creative sound blaster live), ABIT-VT7, zoltrix tv card, beetel adsl2+ router(256 Kbps), Hp deskjet F2235, microsoft lifecam VX-1000 model: 1080

You're only choice is to use the open source drivers...this is with any distro based on juanty.If I have time tonight Ill post back.If not Ill be back next week.I think Drama has ATI experience also you can p.m. em too.

I've read the web site you gave me, but perform any installation i will need step by step help!
by the way, as what i've read, my ATI 7000 should be supported.moreover, as i've already mentioned,
with the ubuntu 9.04, linux mint, i could activate the desktop effects..therefore, i think the problem is something else!
may be the Ultimate Edition doesn't have the genuine drivers, which it should contain...may be the drivers installation was not properly executed...
I'll keep on checking if someone has posted to this problem! please try to help me out!

yeah, i also now that ATI is not a well supported card!

hey guys why not give the Radeon rewrite drivers a go https://launchpad.net/~xorg-edgers/+archive/radeon
it supports radeon 7000 and 6000
EDIT: sorry guys didnt read all through it the drivers does indeed support radeon 7000 and 6000 but on KARMIC only so it wont work in Ultimate Edition 2.3

I went there and followed the instruction and tried to install the drivers, but was unsuccessful!
there was an error

I had already went to this site!I searced for the drivers and then only did i came to ask for help!
anyway thaks!i've check again for the drivers again there!but in vain!so i'll need you guys to give me a step by step commands,so as i go in the right track

i've followed the instructions!i do not really know what i did!but nothing happened! there were always some error report!
its too difficult for a non computer learner(i mean at school), and a "fresh" newbie like me...so please,please,please be more fluid and make it more simple for a fool(yeah,now i know i am ) to understand...
