Nope. When I run tvtime from a terminal, I get two lines saying the program is reading tvtime.xml files and then an error message saying there is no XVIDEO port found supporting YUY2 images. There is a very brief black box shown where the video screen would be and then the program exits saying tvtime requires hardware YUY2 overlay support from your video card. Of course I know the hardware is OK because it run fine from almost every other distro.

I have given explicit information on the TV CARD. The video card is irrelevant. There are some cards that combine these function but this is NOT one of them

I have given explicit information on the TV CARD.

ATI All-in-Wonder tv card is not very explicit....

If you would have answered this on the first page I would have known....

With that said, Tvtime as you know requires YUY2...which is relevant to your video card/driver.You might have to edit your xorg file.Which is strange, because I haven't heard of a driver not supporting it in a long time.I suggested the gatos driver going on the assumption that you might have an older Ati card(which dose not support the overlay/yuy2 in nix without the proper driver).I did this because I haven't heard of nividia ever having this problem. You can try to open your capture devise in vlc also.It probably won't work because you need the right driver,or reinstall the driver(might be corrupt). All this is nay say.....unless we know what your hardware is....

Now.....please list your specs.

Turns out the install used the Vesa driver instead of the nvidia one. I ran the following and it fixed the problem.
Code: Select all
sudo dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg

Thanks to everyone for the help. Sorry I was so rude.
