This has been something going on just here lately. I think I may have a hardware issue. But I am enjoying the new release so far. Any idea if a Wacom Tablet is supported and if so how to make it work with pressure sensativity, etc.

Thanks again for the awesome release TheMann.

Cant help with the tablet question/issue (no laptop). As far as the install issue goes. Would think if x64 didnt cause any issues then neither would x86. Does the x86 live cd boot just fine?

Hi Drama,
Thanks for the response. Actually the strange part is that the live dvd work just fine but the install always stops at around 74%. I can't figure that one out. The 64 bit version installs all the way through.

Tim

Well my first guess would be maybe a bad burn. I have had this happen before. But this may not be the case. When i get a chance to find my little notepad ill look up the command to launch the installer from the terminal. this way we can see if it throws up errors.

Fader,

Hmmm....your right, but wrong. Is this a test?If it is you failed.Considering the reason why did you delete your swamp partition? Are you just experimenting?Instead of being negative why not explain your self?Teach us all something.....this a a community. Share your findings, and reasons.

You couldnt even figure out what I was talking about and were no help what so ever.

Cell, you really arent unhelpful. Get a clue.

Which is the case....helpful,or aren't unhelpful? Do you see the confusion Fader?

Cheers

No need to apologize Drama, you did what you were supposed to do, thats why you're an admin. I got ahead of myself by putting up a torrent, assuming that it had been released without checking for myself, after seeing all the links.
Meanwhile, lets everybody try and learn from the experience and exercise some patience on the next release so we can avoid any replays.

Meanwhile, enjoy the latest creation brought to you by TheeMahn...

i agree with u ... thanx Drama <BREW>

I remember what happen with the last release, when the guy hacked into the server and then uploaded the beta release of Ultimate Edition 2.1 to Rapidshare, and put the link on every warez board he could find. Then he posted the link here on the board, and he was very proud of it. Theeman, admins/mods have always done an outstanding job of creating and testing the release before it is released to the public. That is what keeps people hanging out here for the latest and greatest Ultimate Edition.

You have to admit it does get a little crazy sometimes around here when a new release is launched. That does make it interesting and fun the weeks and days before the final release.

Great job on the 2.2 release, as always!

Fader,

Just for my entertainment I proceeded to perhaps muck my system up just for you.As you can see You can reinstall any type of partition from the manager....on a mounted drive.

1.I proceeded to delete my swap....I was successful.I just reformatted it as an ext 4 file system.
2.I rebooted....I have no swap....understandable since I just reformatted it.
3.I proceeded to reinstall swap over my new ext 4 file system....successes.
4.rebooted...Swap is back, but not being used.hmmm what do I do now?
5.turn swap on........successes.
6.everything is cool back to normal.I believe the first step is important to use my method. You have to format it in a different file system.

I'm a Linux noob. I'm running off of the LiveDVD. This thing is amazing as always. I am currently running Windows 7 but when I get a bigger HDD I'll be able to finally make the switch to Linux. I need a windows partition for things like some gaming, my zune, and my pinnacle hdtv usb tuner, So I guess I'll be dual booting. I was planning on going with either Ultimate Edition or Linuxmint. But I like the look and feel of Ultimate Edition, so I think this will be my Linux of choice. Thank you all in the Ultimate Edition community for this great Distro. I hope to see it on Distrowatch soon so more people can enjoy this great OS. Thanks Thee

EDIT. This is also the first time all the hardware on my Laptop Inspiron 1720 was picked up. My bluetooth and wireless card was never picked up by other distros, including prior Ultimate Edition. This just makes it too perfect.

EDIT 2. I can't seem to be able to watch youtube in HD or HULU. Is it a Linux limitation?

Hello Cell.
For your Q on PClinuxOS,
there is re master that I have made for the HE users for download from my lib.
And I make to the site in Israel re master for the U.E in the same way.
It is not the same like the regular re master,it work with full install of
plug in,codecs, and soft ,that the user can work without install the disk!
You can just run the user from the disk and all WORKS.
Then if you like it,just install and everything is all ready work will full working system.
