Am happy I got the main answer!!! Some of these other things are fairly trivial so is no big deal! The largest is solved as mouse and keyboard work after boot! Putting these systems together is pretty rough! See, TheeMahn and others on here have great and vast knowledge, where I am only slightly knowledgeable! Mostly, what I had going for me was common sense. Common sense dictates that I should also be paying close attention to detail and what I am doing! I blew that as I forgot to recheck on the re-install of the kernel to make sure the image-extra was installed! So there went the common sense that has been my greatest asset!

So, yes am kind of wipping myself for the whole deal as I should be smarter than that! Main thing though is has been fixed and I believe it will not be long til I have it all installed! I can't wait as this time even the kitchen sink is installed! Is just everything have ever wanted in an OS! Avoiding KDE got me to this point so is a major thrill! Am not against KDE, but as have stated with current construction of Ubuntu's size turns out to be over 4gigs if I have KDE installed! I am tired of using these 8gig flash drives! Just want to be normal and use a 4gig! So far that point is a total success! Mostly what I have left to do is just ensure and check on everything! A final check before I leap into it! This OS am running now is doing so so, and believe it will continue to take the strain of things so should be good!

You'll have to try this some time Xxjoker. Is a thrill in many ways lots of ups, but yes many downs too! To me is exciting to watch these pieces go together and know they are forming something that will make using the computer a great experience! Sure is very time consuming and at points have to look up uncounted amounts of information to solve problems, but the knowledge that is obtained is absolutely priceless! The changes and improvements are just beyond belief! Is incredible what just 5 or 6 months bring into Linux! Current estimate is somewhere around every 6 months of Linux is equivalent to 2 years in Windows! Of course estimates are based from my usage of Windows until 2011! Also is the best I can calculate but am sure am really close to the real percentage and rate!

Any way am back to checking some things and of course can not let that ugly shell go in for install can I??? Have to pretty things up a bit also! Gnome cured me of the ugly desktop way back when I started! Take care will catch everyone in a bit!
