glib-2.0/schemas does not always cooperate!

Postby BBOSAK2143 » Thu Nov 21, 2013 9:21 pm

Am still working away modifying my second OS to have it all set up on the load. Spent loads of time inside glib-2.0/schemas to get all set up so have nothing or close to it to setup after the load! Well, I got real far and have 90 or more percent of it. Still I have one item that refuses to change to its new setting. This happens only for the Gnome desktops and is of all things the icons! Seems there has to be a setting somewhere else in the system that is telling glib it is full of you know what! Now I have everything else, or all other desktops showing those icons except for Gnome! Is just not a happy camper getting told I hate its garbage stock Gnome Icons! There is nothing like noobslabs sky-blue-gnome icons, now those are hot! I mean they are beyond perfection and would love to see the distro load with those icons, instead of those trashy 2year old kid could have made them Gnome icons. Actually only seen one worse than those and that is that fiaenza or whatever is not even worth pronouncing right! Ugly as sin!

Anyway is my opinion and sorry if I have offended anyone that thinks those icons look good! Personally, I want my distro my way!!!! Now I have all pictures coming up on all desktops, not blank crap or weird swirlee's (kde). No, not! I have all landscape type pics that add a more natural look to things. Least I am very comfortable with that type of look. Most will notice, I have had those type of backgrounds on every pic I have uploaded! Still now aimed at those way beyond my brilliance, if anyone knows where there are other settings to get those lousy icons out, please let me know, will be very grateful!!!! Now remember, there is no spelling error or capitalization problem or all the other desktops would not show those icons, and believe me they do! Just Gnome is stubborn to let its trashy icons go!!!! So any inside info will be greatly appreciated! Also more help to come for those building as can go through more of glib-2.0 soon!

This is what happens when you do not double and triple check proof read all files! So please anyone that reads the above statements remember were made in haste! Situation is cleared up, wound up some way I hit = and the file should only be sky-blue-gnome! Am so thankful got it going! Is going to be nice to dump some files I just do not care for! My plan is to get this image down to just below 4gigs so can fit on a smaller flash drive! Am new to this folder and contents, so is going to take me time to get things exactly right. To be totally honest, if I was on cable most likely would just drop building for a bit and just download Ultimate 3.7. Is the drawbacks of having 3g service, you get dropped like a hot potato when you go to download anything over a gig! Even times I got dropped downloading for this OS am working on! So not fun at points and sure miss the cable and what I am missing out with Ultimate. There is no way I can get compiz close to what TheeMahn can do and boy do I miss that! Anyway I still wish Gnome would drop those ugly icons and use noobslab ones! Least would be good looking, but since I do not think they will ever consider beautiful icons again, least I know how to change that aspect!!!! Still is fun learning all this and I keep hoping what I have learned and share will help others as is always my wish to help as much as I have been helped!!!!
