If my guess is correct, mir is pretty much wayland except that Canonical pretty much 'own's' it. :roll:
Supposed to make driver install easier and game dev and porting easy.

Not completely wayland. It will help them convert the ui according to device. Same software will convert o tablet layout, phone layout, and unity when installed on respective device. I think their end goal would be to make the same app useable in phone tablet and desktop mode.

The only good thing about MIR is the dual screen support. Finally no "open on the left screen" issues. MIR is supposed to have REALLY good support in that respect.
