What did the update change? I haven't gotten any updates that have changed anything drastically.

And as far as Google and Firefox's relationship, there isn't really anything out of the norm there. Firefox is an open source project that collects a sum of money from Google by including the search bar. Google in turn generates revenue by firefox users using their search engine. It's mutual and they both benefit and the code is open source.

The fact that you are complaining about the autocomplete feature is pretty absurd. Many programs have this feature and it has been around a long time. Some people like it, others don't. If you don't, then turn it off.

Iceweasel is the firefox browser with all extra stuff stripped from it. That seems what you are looking for. Or you can switch to IE with Yahoo Toolbar :P

I hear what you're saying - I believe everything should be an "opt-in" rather than an "opt-out" situation. If I want a particular add on or feature, I will get it and install it for myself thank you. Yes there should be updates to fix flaws or security holes - that's fair enough and sensible, but all else should be optional. It's kind of like tele-marketers who phone you up at meal times and try to sell you something you're just not interested in. If I wanted to buy it, i'd go to the stores and get it!
As for Google - well, they just scare me. Those who control information.....control everything. Governments know this, religious leaders know this. Religion has always been a means for a select few to control the masses through information control. Will there ever be a church of Google?....

Our Google, who art in cyberspace,
Hallowed be thy domain.
Thy search to come,
Thy results be done,
On 127.0.0.1 as it is in the Googleplex.
Give us this day our daily searches,
And forgive us our spam,
As we forgive those who spam against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
But deliver us from Microsoft.
For thine is the search engine,
And the power,
And the glory,
Forever and ever.
Amen.

LMAO - Thanks Nick.

You shouldn't stop using something just because it changed. and I dare you to stop using Google.what makes FF for me is the ability to fully tweak and customize it to make it you own. One persons perfect browser is the next persons nightmare browser. Ive had issues with Flash and Firefox(hell I even installed Flash and FF in Wine so I could watch Flash) but its fixed now. What if IE was your only choice. Just be grateful for what you have. and if you don't like something for some reason you can change it. If FF doesn't do what you want get --or make-- an extension the will make it do what you want.

I'm still waiting for Opera to be included with Ultimate!!! I guess i'll just keep waiting!!!!
I use Firefox every once in a while. When I do a fresh install I use it to install Opera and that is it!!
Just like when I install XP. I use IE once to install Opera!!! Ubuntu and Firefox must have a secret affair going on because they snub everybody by not including a real web browser alternative!!

I have a nice moble phone and this is by far the best browser I have ever seen. Any media just works in it right out of the box. To bad there isn't a Linux.. non mobile version.
