It is not dos. You are in Linux command line territory now. This means X did not start(Your gui desktop). This usually means a graphics card issue(or a bad drive or disc).
Try using safe mode which will load a different graphics driver and see if you get a desktop. If not post back with your system specs and someone should be able to help you.

I can't get any further :S

like the computer I am using now I got yesterday so.

my specc are,

Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-MA790X-DS4, AMD 790X, DDR2
CPU: AMD AM2 Athlon 64 X2 7750 Black
RAM: Kingston DDR2 HyperX PC8500 CL5 (1024 x 4)
GPU: XFX GeForce 9800GTX+ 765M 512MB PhysX
PSU: Hiper Type-R 580W

I should also add that my GPU lacks 1 6pins from the PSU since my PSU didn't have more than 1 :S

Have you tried running any other live Disc OS? To see if you get to the GUI (Desktop)...my first thought is concerns for this:
I should also add that my GPU lacks 1 6pins from the PSU since my PSU didn't have more than 1 :S
That's why I ask about running something else to see if your GPU is functioning or not...without proper electrical, many things won't function

xp is likely not as taxing on the GPU , are you sure your power supply is up to the task of running everything you have hooked up?
