Adding partitions

Help & support for Ultimate Edition 2.0

Adding partitions

Postby steve423 » Thu Feb 05, 2009 4:34 pm

I used G Parted to shrink my Windows partition I now want to add the additional free space to my Ultimate Edition 2.0 partition. I formated the free space to ext3 but I don't know of a way to add it to my existing Linux partition.

Thanks for the thread but I'm still not seeing how I can resize my partition.

What I see is my Windoze partition, the now unallocated space and my Linux partition. When I click to resize my Linux partition there is not option to extended it any further that within it's own size. Basically it does not see the unallocated space. What am I missing here? :?:

It is just one 160GB drive. There's the NTFS partition (Windoze), unallocated space (taken from Windoze) and the Ultimate Edition 2.0 partition.

Click on sda2 and grow it to include the unused space(resize) till it takes over the entire unallocated space. You may have to shrink the free space first then increase the the ext.3 partition. You can move the partitions around as well. There is Take Screenshot under accessories that will save it as .png that might be easier for you to figure out. Here are my partitions. Yours of course are not the same but you should be able to get the general idea.
p.s. That will be 50 bucks.
