Having lots of trouble with Ultimate Gamers Edition 2.0

I'm having a lor of trouble with this distro. Apps keep locking up, I keep having to restart, and now that I've enabled the restricted drivers, I can only get 1024x768 resolution. Is there any explanation here? Am I just missing something?

Something that will help your system run smoother... disable desktop effects.
Compiz fusion has conflicts with a few packages and doesn't like to run at the same time.
It also eats a good chunk of system resources and will slow down your system.
For running anything video intensive, it's always a good idea to disable it.

Mr. Leadfingers found this, this morning in my post under SUGGESTIONS ON/OFF switch...Compiz on/off switch...I downloaded it, right clicked the tar, selected open /w gdebi installer password, presto changeo, installed..now find it under ACCESSORIES...right click add to panel..wa-la you can now shut down or fire up compiz with 1 click...now if one of you gamers or video guys can post back as to if this solves some problems, it might help many :D I'm sorry...look for his attachment there!!!
EDIT: On a side note, if you don't like the tar box cluttering up your desktop, don't delete it move it for now...I don't have time to go back and read everything right now, but it may contain an UN-INSTALLER you might need if you don't like it...maybe one of the ADMINS. can weigh in, in my absence
