Updating From 1.x to 2.0

Postby thenellt » Tue Nov 11, 2008 9:25 pm

Just wondering if you can upgrade from 1.8 or 1.9 to 2.0? Would be useful, or is a full reinstall required?
Thanks, thenellt

I don't believe that upgrading from 1.8 or 1.9 is possible.
Your best bet is going to be backing up your files, and reinstalling.
That's OK, though, you won't be disappointed.

Its enough to just copy /home.
I have /home on a seperate partition so I choose manual installation and just set the mountpoint of this partition to be /home.
Note that: you retain your settings but you lose your apps
ex: Deluge is not installed on ultimate edition 2.0 but if I install it, it will use my 1.8 settings saved on my /home

note: wine apps are completely in /home/user-name/.wine so you will retain all your wine installed apps-games
