Ok this initially did not work... It does intall a opensource driver that works right off the rip including compiz-fusion, I have now installed today for the first time the "restricted drivers", I am looking into weather crossfire works or not.

Yes, but the "clipart" is not added.

Thanks for the hard work, looking forward to Ultimate Edition 2.0
I recently saw this over at Phoronix,
http://www.phoronix.com/scan.php?page=a ... 2008&num=1
does anyone know if Ultimate 2.0 has this same problem, or is it just vanilla Ubuntu?

EDIT: Just found that this topic is also in the Ultimate Edition 1.9 forum. :?

As far as crossfire is concerned, I want to know if Hybrid Crossfire works. My mobo supports hybrid crossfire with 3000 series cards.

Really glad to see AMD will not be a problem in Ultimate Edition as it is in Ubuntu.

Will 2.0 solve this stupid hardy kernel bug?

I can't burn CD/DVD on my 1.9 so far, if I want to do it, I need to put the empty media in the drive, then restart, and only then the media is detected. What if I need another copy of the same thing? Put another media, reboot again, and then burn again!
It's silly!! It worked great on Gutsy!
I always say, if you do something good, keep doing it, why screw something that works?

What application are you using to burn with? Does this happen with ALL cd/dvd burning apps?

The problem isn't related to the applications I want to burn with, it's system wide, the drive itself doesn't load the disc, you know, normally when you insert an empty disc, linux automatically mounts it as empty cd or something like that, you can even see the icon on your desktop, this doesn't happen in my PC, only after rebooting you can see it's mounted and then any burning software will burn fine, if "there's no disc in the drive" none of the burning programs will be able to help you...

The guys are hoping this gets fixed on intrepid, I don't see why does it need to wait, why can't they just update the kernel???
