md5 is good. I tried to load oem "hardy" with same behavior. I'm thinking due to the fact that this is like the fifth different distro I've installed, maybe its something in the bootloader? Right before I started over the last time I had Ultimate Edition 2.0 as the only OS, then used my Seagate Disc Utility to do a quick reformat to NTFS and made two partitions one for xp(16GB) and one for Ultimate Edition 1.9(186GB), because I wanted the LTS. Xp loaded fine, then I went to install Ultimate Edition 1.9 and I checked the md5, burned it 4x, should be fine right? Thats when I got the user/password screen! I tried all my combinations I ever used and all the basics (root/root),(guest/guest) NOTHING! When I took liveCD out & rebooted I noticed that it hangs similar to the way GRUB does(blank screen with underscore at top right corner), but GRUB should not be on there yet, RIGHT? OEM "Hardy" does the same thing. I guess my next question is does he GRUB go on the hard drive or is it in the BIOS? Maybe the quick format did not get it all the way off. If it is on the drive, I can reset the drive to ZERO's and start over again if I have to, but It takes about 36 hours!!!!

Thanks in Advance!
