Whatsup , Merry Christmas to all .....

Have a question about when playing some games not all just the ones 3D - Accelerated
like Urban Terror loads but no video and sound works and then sometimes the screen
cuts off like signal loss or ?? and says on screen "Signal Over Range"
it does this with other 3D games is there a setting for this I have the latest Video Drivers installed v177.82 works great but some games or rather slow as well as the Signal Over Range ...... I'm sure this is probally a setting somewhere if someone could
help me out and direct me to some info to correct this I'm using Ubuntu Ultimate Edition v1.9.

Thanks in advance

Robert

Merry Christmas 2008

P.S. Still have Gimp Issues see earlier post .. ??

Have you checked System>Preferences>Screen Resolution and made sure the refresh rate is set correctly?
For the US it should be in the 50-70 range and ideally at 60. Above 75 would be over range.

is this out of range issue just when running it in fullscreen. or does it happen in windowed mode too? i just ask this because i kno at least in my case i had to manually edit my xorg.conf with the proper sync values that my monitor supports to avoid getting the same message. but i only recieved it with some apps and only in fullscreen (amarok visualizations for starters). if you give me you monitor manufature AND model name/number ill hunt down the correct values and then come back with instructions on what i think is the solution.
