Skype, Updating Azureus & fonts Questions

Halo everyone,

I am wondering to start with when will Skype release a stable version for Ubuntu Hardy or the Ultimate version 1.9? Is there a reliable solution out there? i have tried various solutions during the time that i had the Ubuntu Hardy version of the system, but none worked.

Also, i want to update Azureus, but i cannot do it though the software directly because i need root privileges. Now i go to the terminal and write sudo su to get to the root. After how can i update?

Lastly, i have some truetype Tolkien fonts that i want to install. How do i do that?

Have you tried the Debian etch version of Skype yet?

Try installing azureus using this:

Thanks for the suggestion and the quick reply,

Yes that was my first choice before i started meddling around and googling different ways of getting around the main issue. Initially i think it was due to pulse audio, but in the Ultimate version i have found that i can talk for a little while before the system crashes if i haven't opened up firefox. No way of course of operating with my webcam

Unfortunately i don't get the same results with azureus.. Please see attachment for my synaptic picture.
Finally, the link for the font installer... when i go to download it tells me "file not found"

By the way, with azureus i run sudo azureus and it updated fine to vuze ver.4 soth. but only a error message pops up that says i cannot update without permissions. Since i know that by now i'm wondering if i can get rid of that message...

That post solved half of the problem....
the main issue is that azureus installation folder is permission based and my files are in an external hard drive.
I'm not sure, but let's see...
Is there any way i can always grant permission to azureus for its updates? Just a thought.
