Can I safely remove XFCE or Xubuntu ?

Can I safely remove XFCE or Xubuntu ?

Postby brjoon1021 » Thu Oct 30, 2008 7:49 pm

Hi,

I like KDE and Gnome, I decided that I don't want XFCE anymore in this installation.

1. Can I remove XFCE or Xubuntu (whichever way it is installed in 1.9) safely and pretty thoroughly without breaking anything else ?

2. If yes, please tell me the safest way and what to remove (i.e. synaptic or should this be done with apt in a terminal) ... which packages can I blow away - without leaving much or anything left behind ?

Thanks,

B

HI,

I ran that command, whatever it removed it did not touch XFCE as far as I can tell. I have a fully functional XFCE desktop available to me. I would like to remove it.
