1.9 how to install

Postby KTM » Sun Oct 26, 2008 5:01 pm

I just downloaded 64bit Ultimate 1.9 I can't seem to boot from it when I burn it to a disc. I'm not quite sure on the whole burning a bootable image deal. I get the umenu up when in windows and I click install in windows and it just tries to go out to the net and REdownload the files. What am I supposed to do with the files after I downloaded them the first time?! Any feedback is greatly appreciated. thanks!

Welcome, KTM. Glad you decided to join us!! Once you have downloaded Ultimate(which is what you have done) it will appear as a zip or rar file in Windows(depending on what you use for a compression program). It is actually an ISO image(which is a compressed file also). Depending on what burning sotware you use(I use Nero with Windows), you will need to burn it to a DVD as an ISO image. Your burning software should have an option for this. If you tell us what burning software you have we will be able to guide you through the process. It is fairly easy. Post back if you need further help.

It already is an ISO. Windows just looks at it as a compressed file. All you have to do is just burn it as as image(not data) with your burning software.
