i was trying to install vista , the black edition, my friend got it and i wanted to try installing it on the desktop that has ubuntu. however, i just reinstalled ubuntu but i installed 8.10 instead of 8.04. I am just curious so that when i reinstall virtualbox that i have somewhere to continue on to instead of just having it there for no reason.

Just pay attention that the official VirtualBox site isn't yet updated about Ubuntu 8.10, I managed to install by adding the repos to my list, just changing "hardy" to "intrepid" and it worked, but I'm still not sure the USB issue can be fixed the same way you could do with Hardy. Intrepid version has a few lines less in the file that you're supposed to edit to make it work.
Just be aware it may take a little mor eto make it work correctly.
I'll try to post an updated howto about VirtualBox and intrepid after I'm finished making it work fine.
