Again+Nvidia+xorg+dpkg recon

Help & support for Ultimate Edition 1.9

Re: Again+Nvidia+xorg+dpkg recon

i did rebooted in recovery mode
had to add " noapic" to the boot line

was presented with four options:
1) resume normal boot
2) dpkg
3) root console
4) xfix

tried one and the other option and at one option was presented with nvidia screens , then immediately invalid mode!
gosh I was happy i rebooted thinking that editing the xorg file might now help.
edited but no luck.

Here is my final xorg.conf. If any one is having problems configuring the xorg try using this conf

Code: Select all
# xorg.conf (xorg X Window System server configuration file)
#
# This file was generated by dexconf, the Debian X Configuration tool, using
# values from the debconf database.
#
# Edit this file with caution, and see the xorg.conf manual page.
# (Type "man xorg.conf" at the shell prompt.)
#
# This file is automatically updated on xserver-xorg package upgrades *only*
# if it has not been modified since the last upgrade of the xserver-xorg
# package.
#
# If you have edited this file but would like it to be automatically updated
# again, run the following command:
#   sudo dpkg-reconfigure -phigh xserver-xorg
