Where did you download the file from? It will and should give you a MD5SUM to compare to. It will just simply be listed in with the file or right near the link.

There is nothing to find... The installer is asking you for the information to CREATE your user name and password for subsequent log-ins AFTER you finish the install. You can enter whatever you want but once the install is finished you will be prompted for that same information to log in. This is just like when Windows asks you to create your user account(s) and Administrator password.
I'm sorry, I can't hear you over the sound of how awesome I am...

If it's not broken, you haven't tweaked it enough.

You're attempting to install Ultimate Edition v1.9, correct? Because I've never been prompted for a username and password during an install except when it's establishing the username and password. Some OTHER distros have done that, but not Ultimate Edition. The error seems to indicate that the installer does not like your "case". Are you typing in all CAPS? If so, try using all lower case. I'm not sure what else to tell you, I've never run into this before.

I would try and boot the CD in 'safe graphics mode' then try your installation again. Sounds odd, I know- but I had to do this and it cleared things up for me. Don't know if this will work for you, but worth a try.
