I am new to Ubuntu , I use Windows XP to shared my dialup internet among other Windows computers..
I am planning to switch over to Ultimate ... I wanted to know does it has equal advantages over windows when it comes to internet sharing and file sharing ?
Is there any program (while using Ubuntu) which i can use to control the bandwidth allocation to other windows computers on my network ?
Lastly what is the minimum harware configuration required for Ubuntu to operate ?
Thank alot in advance for ur replies ..
Quarks .
Welcome aboard quarks - As far as abilities are concerned ... Ultimate Edition is chaulk full of goodies and is very capable of doing what you are looking to do. Internet sharing - It you run a router then this would be no issue what so ever and is in my opinion easier to setup the details with Ultimate Edition than XP. File sharing via LAN or WLAN is just as capable if you mean file sharing as in torrents, then yes this is possible as well, but in my opinion- the options are a little slimmer and not as easily tweaked. Not sure on the min. requirements sorry.
