The last one I have gere is to try in the terminal.
The command will be:

Here's my issue "as it is". Everything I can see tells me that I do, in fact, have it installed. I tried your latest advice and the message on the terminal was "0 files deleted, 0files changed, 0 files added" and "Latest version of Nautilus-Dropbox already installed".

I almost laughed my coffee onto my screen!

Anyway...I have no dialogs, no logon to dropbox screens, no, well...anything other than it shows in my main menu.

For 99.99% of my day, it's no worry. Files move just fine across my network and I have a bunch of USB sticks to "portable-ize" anything else.
