Boot Issues

Postby gdonwallace » Thu Mar 17, 2011 10:51 am

I decided to try Ultimate Edition, I had read about and thought it was time to try the Live DVD.

I liked it, but also ran into a problem. After using the DVD for about 2 hours, i decided to boot back into Ubuntu. When I tried to boot up, Ubuntu only boots partially; gets to the "Check Battery State" and hangs. It does this with or without the plug attached to the laptop. Nothing has changed, and I did not install Ultimate Edition. Any ideas about what may have happened.

If you were in live, did nothing to install or change grub or partitions.

Then chances are it's freak happenstance that looks to have something to do with using live. But really doesn't , you more have a underlining problem with your ubuntu install.

Oddity I see from time to time.

Caused by god knows what, bad sectors in HDD , update of a package that effected boot. Etc

Can you boot to recovery? Check for damaged packages?
