Hello ManWithTheSmile,

Ultimate Edition is based on UBUNTU so if you understand UBUNTU then Ultimate Edition should not be difficult for you to use. The EU is the "End User", which is you, it is FREE to use. Most of your questions should be answered here on the Forum in this section Newbie's corner. IF there is some special question not answered, please post here and we will answer it for you. You install Ultimate Edition the same as UBUNTU, in fact they both use the same basic installer.
It is difficult to give tips and tricks because every one here would give you different opinions, not everyone likes the same things, for instance; you may or may not like a "dock" program. I like to add items to the Top Panel; Force Quit, Weather, and System monitor, you right click in the top panel to add items to it. I like to add the keyboard command to "kill the X server" if the system freezes.

The Major difference between the 2 Distro's is Ultimate Edition has more Apps or programs Pre-installed, it comes with more "Eye Candy" enabled by default, especially if you have an Ati graphic card. Please let us know what computer you are using and the spec's, it will be easier to answer any questions.

So please have fun reading through the Newbie's Corner part of the Forum and don't be afraid to try things, if you run into a problem we will help you. <BREW> Please don't worry so much about your English, there are people here from all over the world!! <BREW> <BREW>

Ultimate edition is Ubuntu with all the bells and whistles added strait out of the box.

All the leg work has been done, theemahn has made the code all jive smooth.

beta test team has tried to break it and reported all problems needing fixed.

Important part is you pick a version that fits your hardware needs.

Ultimate Edition 2.6.1 & 2.7 is ideal for PC,s made over the last 3 to 6 years

Ultimate Edition 2.8 and 2.9 are ideal for 0 to 2 year old PC,s

Yes, it installs just like ubuntu, only the splash screens have changed.

Install it and report back with questions , please use the respectable threads pertaining to the questions at hand.

Thanks a lot guys!

I was impatient and i download it and install it, i was very curious :)
Yes, its "Ubuntu" its almost the same as i can see for this short time. I'v just do the things like i do after installing Ubuntu, now i just need to explore...
I'v add Ultimate Edition repo and then i get message
Code: Select all
W: Failed to fetch http://downloadue.info/repo/dists/maverick/all/source/Sources.gz  404  Not Found

E: Some index files failed to download, they have been ignored, or old ones used instead.

Thats the only thing for now thats problem (or maybe not)...?!

Welcome to Ultimate edition, hands down my favorite OS EVER.

Also, all repo's are already added to Ultimate Edition 2.8. No need to download and add them.
