Installing Ultimate edition 64bit problem inside v box

Postby EN1ac3R » Tue Aug 17, 2010 11:44 pm

Hi everyone,

I just want to share my problem with you that i had...hope it helps

If you are running a 64bit system and want to try out Ultimate edition 64,do not do this in v box,
as i experienced.

I have a Amd 64 bit dc x2 6000+
Windows 7 64bit ultimate

Now when i installed virtual box 3.2.8 (latest),it came up with a problem saying that to run a guest 64bit operating system i had to go into the bios and turn on the virtualization....
Like myself and a few others i talked to,they did not have the settings too, some information on 1 website said that if the setting was not there then a bios flash was the only answer, but a couple of people i found said it did not work.

I checked with Amd and my processor supports virtulization..

I found some information that stated virtual box does not support this function,it needs xtra software.
I actualy got v box from their website, and it says there it supports it ???

so i went back to VMware 7.0.

Everything is good now,all bridged okay, everything working well.
When you install though do it from the optical drive....not virtual <BREW>

Then you can try out the best linux os :D

Hope this has helped you out.
