LIVE/INSTALL DVD...Is this possible?

Postby Dutch88 » Wed Jun 30, 2010 3:34 am

I was wondering, is there a way you could make a LIVE/INSTALL DVD from your existing installation of 2.7? I was thinking, get all the tweaks and applications just the way you wanted them along with maybe some extra apps, backgrounds, games, etc., and make an LIVE/INSTALL DVD just like the one you guys make. I have seen some LIVE DVD making apps but I'm not sure how they work. Just wondering! Thanks!

There is a program called remastersys that DID create a version of your installed system that you can install from. Not sure if it fills the bill exactly, or how well it works with Lucid (currently trying it to see,) but if you should try it, you can get it to work with just two commands in a terminal:

sudo su
remastersys dist

Here's the download location, with a synopsis of the program (program updated on 5/11/10) from the author:

Edit:

I would check the above address for the info from the author, but a more updated version can be found here:
