Phone Application help

Postby silvertongued1 » Tue Jun 22, 2010 11:13 pm

Ok, Ultimate Edition 2.6, and I found an application in Ubuntu Software Center, called phone manager. It *apparently* allows you to send texts through the phone while it's plugged into the comp.

The phone, Android G1, is plugged into the USB, but the app wont' recognize it...

Under the application preferences, It asks for the connection. I chose other port, and found some info under the disk utility once the phone was mounted on the desktop. (so now I can access files in the phone from the computer, but the app doesn't recognize th phone.)

In the disk utility. Under drives
Device: /dev/sdb
Connection: USB at 480.0 MB/s
Under volumes
device: /dev/sdb1
mount point: /media/KFAT1

Which of these goes into the connection, or am I way off base?

Just tips, no rush or emergency.

Thanks.

Andrew

It's seeing it as a storage device and not a modem. I'm not sure how to change that with an android. Perhaps someone else here knows how.

Okay, I'll try this soon.

Mine is a G1, love it, and so this should work very well for me. I really appreciate the help.

Ok, Lies, not all golden. lol you lost me at the end, with the bit about the SDK and abd, and I'm not sure, after moving the file, and running everything else, what I'm supposed to do. Mainly, which port should I tell this Phone Manager program to find the phone in?
