The easiest way:
Get to your desktop from the live DVD
Hit the little U.E logo in the upper left corner
Select
System/ Preferences/ Screen Resolutionand set it to 1024 x 768 with a refresh rate of 60Hz
hit apply
Then do your install.
If for some reason you can't make it to your desktop, keep reading.

Change

to
boot: /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.15-26-k7 root=/dev/hda1 ro quiet splash vga=771
Kernel OptionsThese options are used by the kernel, and will apply to any system at any time. The file "Documentation/kernel-parameters.txt" in the relevant linux-source package provides more information.
vga=xxxSet your
Framebuffer resolution to VESA mode xxx. Check
here for a list of possible modes.
Example:
vga=792 will give you 1024x768 @ 24-bit color
...........
vga=795................1280x1024 @ 24-bit color
________________________________________________________________________So from the example above, add
vga=792 to your boot options.
At the first boot screen with the big Ultimate Edition logo,
Hit
F6 Hit the <Spacebar>
and add
vga=792Hit enter and go get a cup of coffee until it completely loads.
Because of the new changes, it might still be necessary to change your
Screen Resolution that was described at the beginning of this post.
