Philips Monitor issue

Postby Ouzo » Sat Dec 05, 2009 3:46 pm

Hello everybody.

Few days ago i installed UE2.4 x64 on my system as main and only OS.
Install was succesfull.Everything was working properly.I found a way to install flash player and i was ready to do some updates throught ultamatix and some system updates before start checking backup utilitie.
Power went off.Re-opened pc.Never managed to get throught first Ultimate Edition loading screen.
I Have tried to use console to repair.Failed.
Tried to load Ultimate Edition dvd image.Failed.I was getting stuck in the same screen.
Tried to reinstall Ultimate Edition and failed again.Nothing was loading properly.
Then i just reinstalled windows7 and then formated again to install Ultimate Edition.

Installation was succesfull.Or i thought so..
Everything is detected except my philips 190S monitor.

Since i am totally new to linux i d like to ask a few things:
*Why i couldnt even load Ultimate Edition using the image DVD and i had to delete and reinstall to get it working?
*Any solutions on how to recognize my monitor?
*Any guide for new users on linux ?Explanations for commands,KDE,Gnome etc.

Ultimate Edition 2.4 x64
AMD Athlon(TheeMahn) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4600+
4g ram.
nvidia geforce 9500gt
usb mobile internet connection

Any responce is welcome.
Thanks in advance.

Hello Ouzo and welcome to the U.E Forum.

you need to do it with:
Nvidia X Setting Manager..

checked the Merge option when I save the new xorg.conf...reset and voilá, worked!!
